Catherine Macy

I am a Bozeman, Montana native and have been working in the counseling field since 2009. I completed my undergraduate work with honors at George Fox University, in Portland Oregon, and continued on to receive a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family therapy. There, I had the privilege of receiving a deeply spiritual perspective of the human condition as it relates to mental health. This rich education allowed me to integrate my desire to counsel with the kingdom calling God has given me: To walk alongside those who need healing, encouragement, and guidance. Counseling work is journey. My approach starts with helping people discover and feel their worth. As trust forms, I help people identify their patterns of dysfunction and relational brokenness. These patterns usually point to wounds in a person’s original relationships (parents and siblings) that trigger and drive behaviors, needs, and defenses in current relationships. As original wounds are uncovered, false beliefs about life are exposed. Behavioral reactions can be understood, and a shift of grace comes with forgiveness. I am especially passionate about helping couples through the trials of building real marriages, and parents/teen relationship development. In my leisure time I enjoy family time with my two daughters, Laney and Celia who keep me in the beauty and the throes of motherhood on a daily basis! I also love thrift fashion, flea markets, styling photo shoots, creative crafts and making collages.
